Subj: Roadmap for USDF in Q1-Q2 2025

    Team,

As we move further into the second quarter of 2025, the Secretary of Defense and I are proud to reflect on the impactful start we have had to 2025—and to share what lies ahead in the months to come. The Q1-Q2 Roadmap has been a strong demonstration of USDF's momentum, with several key projects already completed and others currently in progress.

The first quarter has seen meaningful progress across several key areas, such as ICSD's expansion into HQ, which has brought a new level to simulation-based roleplay into USDF. In addition to this, we have also completed a redesign of the Flag Grade Officer Advance Board (FGOAB), which streamlines and creates new pathways for our emerging leaders—making it easier to plan and progress at the strategic level.

We have also wrapped up a full HQ redesign, made possible by the dedicated work of the SecDef eXpert's team. The Your Vote, Your Home project gave our HQ a fresh look and feel, grounded in our community feedback and designed with groundbreaking functionality in mind. On the aesthetic side, we also conducted a long-overdue hairstyle audit to address clipping issues and align hairstyles with our updated regulations.

Q2 is already off to a strong start. This month, members of OCJCS are gearing up to launch a new monthly podcast, offering the wider USDF community a space to connect with Senior Command and hear directly from the leaders who guide USDF's vision. This new format gives our personnel a direct line into strategic discussions, whilst also providing the opportunity to ask questions and engage in a meaningful way. We also look forward to the 43rd Ceremonial Parade — an important tradition that brings together every echelon of our community, to honor service, recognize contributions and set our collective sights for the future.

Lastly, this roadmap is not just a set of milestones — it's a reflection of your commitment, innovation and drive. The momentum we have built in Q1 has laid a strong foundation, and we're excited to approach every project with that same drive, confidence and determination.

We will be sure to keep you informed as we reach key milestones. Thank you for everything you have done to make the start of 2025 so impactful. Let's carry that energy through the rest of this quarter and beyond!
