CHAPTER 1. LEAVE POLICY
Section 1. General Provisions
In recognition that real-life and personal matters take precedence over Habbo, personnel within the United States Defense Force (USDF) shall have the right to official leave subject to conditions outlined in this and all other applicable Regulations.
Personnel who have been approved for an official leave lasting 3 or more days shall be exempt from the Standard of Work (SoW) requirements for the active SoW week.
SUBSECTION 1. Processing Authority
The Office of Manpower and Personnel (OMP) shall be responsible for processing, monitoring, or otherwise resolving all matters pertaining to leaves.The leave status may be awarded by:
- Members of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD);
- The Director of Manpower and Personnel (DMP); and,
- OMP ML1.
SUBSECTION 2. Leave Duration and Eligibility Requirements
The authorized length of an official leave shall be determined by the total service time personnel have at the time of requesting the official leave. Active standards shall be outlined in Table 1. Allowed Leave Duration Based on Service Time. Table 1. Allowed Duration of Leave Based on Service Time

Personnel who, at the time of requesting an official leave, have less than 3 months of active duty service and wish to request a leave for over 20 days, must obtain approval from a member of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
Personnel returning from an official leave lasting 20 or more days shall observe a mandatory waiting period of 14 days before submitting a subsequent leave request once they have returned to active duty status.

- Personnel who require additional leave during this mandatory waiting period must obtain prior approval from their respective member of the OSD before submitting their request through established procedures.
Personnel may be granted extended leaves exceeding 30 days, provided they receive prior approval from their respective member of the OSD. Personnel who are not assigned to an office must obtain approval from their respective branch chief.
- Upon approval of an extended leave, personnel must notify the Director of Manpower and Personnel (DMP) and the approving authority through established procedures.
SUBSECTION 1. HQ and Habbo Guidelines
Personnel on official leave may visit the HQ; however, they may not perform any official duties.
- Personnel who frequently visit the HQ while on leave should have their immediate Chain of Command notified, and they may be asked to return from their leave prematurely.
Non-commissioned personnel visiting the HQ while on official leave must be in uniform. Commissioned Officers on official leave must dress in professional civilian attire.

SUBSECTION 2. Personnel Obligations and Privileges
Commissioned Officers are required to submit an official leave request if their unavailability spans 4 or more consecutive days. Commissioned Officers holding command positions are required to submit an official leave request if their unavailability spans 3 or more consecutive days.
- This provision shall not apply to members of the OSD and the National Security Council (NSC).
Personnel serving as regular members of an office may not be dismissed from their office while on approved leave. Personnel serving in command positions may be removed from their position at the discretion of the relevant member of the Joint Staff Directorate (JSD) or the OSD.
All leave requests must be submitted through the Leaves and Reserve Requests board in accordance with the prescribed format and guidelines established for such requests.

CHAPTER 2. RESERVE STRUCTURE
Section 1. General Provisions
The primary objective of the reserve force is to maintain mission readiness through personnel who remain fully engaged and prepared to augment the active duty component when required. To accomplish this mission, the USDF shall maintain two categories of reserve personnel: Active Reserve Duty and Inactive Reserve Duty, as detailed in the following sections.
SUBSECTION 1. Processing Authority
Duty status may be modified by:- Any member of the OSD;
- The DMP;
- OMP ML1; and,
- OMP ML2.
Active Reserve Duty (R1) status is designated for personnel who wish to maintain office affiliation but are unable to meet the full-time requirements of Active Duty status.
Personnel on Active Reserve Duty may not:
- Be appointed to command positions;
- Become members of their respective branch councils;
- Join any sub-office, such as the ICSD, JDT, or Titans; and,
- Be promoted beyond the grade of O4.
Section 3. Inactive Reserve Duty (R2)
Inactive Reserve Duty (R2) status is designated for personnel who wish to maintain membership in the USDF but cannot fulfill the obligations and time commitments required for higher duty status. This status is intended as a temporary assignment only.
Personnel on Inactive Reserve Duty shall be subject to all limitations listed for Active Reserves in Section 2 of this Chapter. Additionally, personnel on R2 may not:
- Join any main office;
- Fill any station in the HQ;
- Host any training or activity;
- Confirm duty shifts; and,
- Promote, demote, or discharge personnel.
- Commissioned Officers requesting Inactive Reserve Duty status must have completed at least 90 days of service as a Commissioned Officer before becoming eligible for the R2 status.
