Subj: Roadmap for USDF in Q4 2025
Team,
As we enter the final quarter of 2025, the Secretary of Defense and I are proud to look back on the remarkable momentum USDF has sustained throughout the year — and to set our sights on the initiatives that will carry us into 2026 with strength, initiative and clarity. The Q4 Roadmap marks a decisive step forward, introducing structural refinements and new development pathways designed to refine our operational effectiveness and elevate the USDF experience for all personnel.
A major change this quarter will be the expansion of the NSC through the introduction of the Chief of Military Education & Training (CMET) position—a new role with a dedicated focus on the Education portfolio. This change ensures that each NSC position manages a single, clearly defined portfolio, allowing for deeper expertise, stronger oversight, and more strategic execution across our all portfolios. With that said, it is with great pleasure to announce the following changes effective immediately:
National Security Council (NSC)
IonDaBeast receives an elevation and appointment to Chief of Military Education & Training (CMET)
.Smashley receives a lateral move to Chairman of the Joint-Chiefs of Staff (CJCS)
Kevnn receives a lateral move to Chief of Staff (CoS)
Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)
Poens receives an elevation and appointment to Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel & Readiness (USD P&R)
Joint Staff Directorate (JSD)
zack436 stands down from Commander, Interactive Combat Simulation Division (CDR ICSD) and the position is retired
Director of International and Regional Security Affairs (DIRSA) applications to open.
We are also undertaking a review of the Branch Leadership Chain of Command to reinforce continuity and provide clearer progression pathways across all branches. In addition, Adjutants will now transition into a permanent role with the time-based limitation removed—solidifying their place within the Chain of Command and ensuring sustained support across all four branches.
After a year of integrating military-based roleplay into USDF, ICSD will be respectfully disbanded, with roleplay development now moving under OJFD for long-term expansion and inclusion. This marks the close of one chapter and the start of a more structured future for practical trainings and roleplay within USDF. The following indiviuals have received these medals for their performances and loyalty towards ICSD:
Awarded Medals to ICSD Command:
General Zack436, CDR ICSD - Awarded Legion of Merit & Interactive Combat Campaign Medal
Captain KimKim25, DC ICSD - Awarded Meterious Service Medal & Interactive Combat Campaign Medal
CWO5 Connorathabbo, A/CO ICSD - Awarded Meritorious Service Medal & Interactive Combat Campaign Medal
CWO4 KoalaScoop, XO ICSD - Awarded Meritorious Service Medal & Interactive Combat Campaign Medal
ICSD Members below have been awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal:
Kimkim25, Connorathabbo, KoalaScoop, Aiden404-1, DerpDerp554, AnthonyS1337, naoxsis, WahankeTheGreat, NorseFrey, Thrawn-, bossashka026, maackie, HazeContraption, Xunf, dave38, IsaacPritchard, iBrando, Matthewfay
Finally, we are preparing major updates to the onboarding and enlisted experience, including revisions to FEAT-linked promotion requirements, the introduction of a more practical, drill-focused training approach, bringing back the military-like standards that defined USDF at its core.
This roadmap reflects a year driven by steady progress, practical changes and a collective commitment to improvement. The work we complete in Q4 will not only close out 2025 on a strong note but also set the tone for an even more focused and ambitious year ahead.
As always, we will keep you informed as these milestones are reached. Thank you for your continued dedication—let’s close out 2025 with purpose and intent, not just momentum.
