OHNCO: Upon successful completion of the OHNCO's term, the director will determine the final rank in accordance with their original rank, service time and performance during the term.
The highest attainable rank is CWO2, once RST (ST decided) is reached.
If the OHNCO's original rank was W1, they may be eligible to receive a final rank of W3.
If the OHNCO stands down or is removed from their position, they return to their original rank without elevation.
BHNCO: The BHNCO position is a two month long stint. Upon successful completion of their term, the Branch Chief and Vice Branch Chief will make a recommendation to the CJCS in accordance with their performance and service time.
If the BHNCO decides to stand down before the completion of their stint, the maximum rank they may be given depends on the term served in accordance with performance and RST. If the NCO/WO is removed from their position, they may return to their original rank without elevation to any rank.
